After accidentally stumbling into the career of mortgage lending at a fairly young age, it did not take me long to realize that I would never work a salaried job again. I worked on commission for two plus decades and had great success including being ranked in the top 10 for loan officers in the country for the largest retail lender in the country at the time. I was paid quite well but I worked hard for that pay and ranking. It taught me that I always want to be paid according to my efforts and not based on what someone else felt my efforts were worth.
When the mortgage industry somewhat crashed in 2008 I found myself looking for something else to do. I wasn’t sure what that would be but knew for certain I would not spend my time building someone else’s dream. I discovered the world of credit card processing and while this was also a “sales” position and I could be paid on my efforts and I had pretty good success, I still found myself wanting something different.
In December 2013 a friend of mine shared a network marketing opportunity with me. I believe in this company and its mission, however this was foreign territory for me. My father had always thought I would do great in network marketing and throughout the years encouraged me to take it on. I just was never ready to go that route until December, 2013.
So, I embarked on this new journey eager and full of excitement thinking since I had been so successful in two other sales careers that surely this would be no different. For the first few months it was great and my enthusiasm helped me “sign up” some people I knew. Looking back I am guessing they felt the F.O.M.O. syndrome (fear of missing out). After I had a little “team” of people I made the colossal mistake of managing my new “team” and trying to get them on my “rah rah” train. Anyone who has tried this knows it doesn’t work. And how could it when you have nothing to offer these people to be successful other than your own enthusiasm?
From there I moved on to trying all kinds of other team building strategies including buying leads from several different sources and learning after a few months and some money spent that this tactic absolutely does NOT work. While I never consider anything I try a failure and instead try to think of it as something I just “ruled out”, I was getting frustrated. I was probably pretty close to quitting but didn’t want to let down those few people on my team who were making an effort and were counting on me to do the same.
FINALLY A SOLUTION
Seemingly out of nowhere (although I truly believe everything happens for a reason), I was introduced to online and attraction marketing. I attended a 2 day live event about generating leads online for network marketers and I can honestly say my life changed during that event. My eyes were opened and my hope was renewed. I finally understood what needed to be done to be successful in network marketing. With my enthusiasm back I embarked on a whole new journey. This journey however has a systematic method to share with people so they can perhaps skip the pain so many network marketers endure or if it’s too late to skip at least they too can see a better way.
Online and attraction marketing allows you to sell to thousands of people who have an interest or need in what you offer so you don’t have to force yourself on people who have absolutely no interest in your offer. It is so much easier to talk to people who want what you have. Isn’t this truly your “warm” market?
My mission is to help affiliate and network marketers learn how to use online and attraction marketing to EXPLODE their business. Attraction marketing works by offering value to people first and helping them solve their problems. I take the time to uncover someone’s “pain” and offer the best solution, from a variety of options, to turn their pain into their profit.
I strongly believe in these 3 things:
1. You have to be willing to grow as a person in everything you do in life. Ongoing self-development is crucial to your growth as an entrepreneur. You can just look at my photos with all these successful, amazing leaders that were mostly taken in the last 12 months and know that I am a firm believer in my own personal and professional self-development.
2. You have to spend money to make money. If you are not willing to invest in yourself, your education, your self-development and programs or products to improve your knowledge or expertise, then it will be difficult to earn money with online/attraction marketing, network marketing or any entrepreneurial endeavor.
3.You must always put the needs of others before your own. When you help enough people get what they want, only then should you expect to get what you want.
LAST BY NOT LEAST-MY FAMILY
Even though last on this page, of course, my family is most important. I have been married to Peter for 17 years and we have 3 beautiful daughters. My oldest, Brittni, is 27 years old and is a certified makeup artist for MAC Cosmetics. She is also like a “stepmom” to the love of my life “step-granddaughter”, EllaRose, who just turned 4. Next is Jordan, 23 years old. She is a recent Honors graduate of Cal State Monterey Bay with an International Business Management Degree. She has a full time job as a Community Manager for a large Property Management company and was recently named Rookie of the Year. She is looking forward to success owning her own business in the near future which please me knowing I inspired her to be an entrepreneur and build her own dream.
And finally, Cristiona who is 16 years old and is an avid softball player. Last year she accepted a softball scholarship to LSU who recently finished in the Final 4 of the Softball College World Series. Her dream is to not only play in the College World Series, but to win it as well. She is also a 4.0 student and is the perfect example of having a dream and committing to making it come true no matter what the sacrifice. Needless to say, much of my free time is spent watching softball.
And I would never be able to not mention my wonderful parents, Merton and Christa who provided me with a perfect childhood and always encourage me and believe in me. I couldn’t have been blessed more in life.
What I hope for most is that I have led by example and inspired my daughters to someday be working hard building their own dreams and helping others to do the same. And I hope that I am able to touch the lives of everyone I work with so they can BE BOLD…and live the life they imagine!
